Details
ArcSoft Mobile IMS allows carrier and handset manufacturers to take advantage of the opportunities offered by IMS-based premium services. The ArcSoft IMS VideoSharing application, the flagship Mobile IMS technology, provides live duplex peer-to-peer video sharing for mobile phone users with an IP connection. In addition, it supports P2P voice and text chatting. ArcSoft IMS VideoSharing can be used with 3G, Wifi, and narrow-band 2.5/2.75G wireless networks. Carriers can quickly implement the solution on a wider array of networks because it only needs a standard SIP-proxy server to register and establish the session. The solution is offered as codecs, an Application Development Kit (ADK), or an application built to suit desired UI specifications.
Application Development Kits (ADKs)
The ArcSoft IMS Video Sharing ADK is designed for ease of use and ease of implementation, enabling the application developer to rapidly develop the user interface. Features include:
- Push to Show: one-way video call
- Video Sharing: two-way full-duplex video call
- Text chatting
- Active buddy list
- SIP server registration and login
- MPEG-4/H.263 and AMR codecs optimized for video telephony
- Standards-based implementation (IMS and SIP)
- Protocol stacks and codecs are highly optimized to overcome error-prone network environments and deliver optimized video over narrowband wireless networks
- IOT-tested with SIP servers from leading IMS infrastructure providers, including Alcatel, Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, and Siemens
- Available on major handset OSes; flexible architecture allows rapid porting to proprietary OSes
- Highly configurable and customizable
- Intuitive and easy to use interface
Codecs/Libraries
ArcSoft codecs used by the IMS applications are standards-compliant, reliable, and error-resilient. They can overcome error-prone network environments and deliver optimized video contents over narrowband wireless networks. Codecs and libraries available for our IMS VideoSharing currently include:
- MPEG-4 Simple Profile encoder and decoder
- H.263-2000 encoder and decoder; H.263-1998 decoder
- AMR-NB encoder and decoder, with DTX, CNG, and adaptive bitrate support
Build-to-Suit Applications
The core applications are highly flexible and can be built to suit different user interface specifications, and can be easily customized and integrated seamlessly for an optimized user experience. For example, the application can be easily integrated with the phone's address book to show the presence status; or prompted to start a video call upon receiving an incoming call from a VideoSharing-enabled caller. The application can work on different networks with a minimum bandwidth of 15 kbps, which includes GPRS, EDGE, CDMA1X, WCDMA, EV-DO, or WIFI. Supported phone platforms include Series 60 and Windows Mobile 2005/2006.
