I can't get 'merging' to work with TotalMedia Extreme (which came bundled with a camcorder so no instruction manual).

Hello,
Can you please provide us with a little more information? I do not see a merge function within the program. Can you explain in detail exactly were you are located within the program.

I've used the MERGE command successfully but it would appear to merge only 2 files at a time. I've merged about 15 'clips' ( all .mov) from my camcorder  (AIPTEK palmcorder) to create a 16 minute  .mov (  about 500 Mb)  which I've then burned to a DVD. using the command on Preview/Produce menu.   To successfully merge firstly use VIDEO button on Get Media page to import your 'leading' clip. Once you've done this you can move to MERGE and select the next clip in your sequence- I couldn't get it to do batches so it would appear you can just merge 2 clips.  Once you've created your new merged file ( merging process gives the file a date/time stamp) you then need to go to Get Media and import the new marged file and then repeat the process by using MERGE to add the next clip.

I've replayed the merged file on my DVD player to my HD LCD TV and it was OK except for:
a.  The display is in WIDE with a blank portion to & bottom on the TV
b. Towards the end the Audio is out of synch- not sure what to do about this.
