    Posted: 06 Feb 2009 at 11:49am
Was wondering if anyone can help.
Recently bought a USB Grabber with bundled ShowBiz 2.
Connected camcorder to the USB Grabber and when camcorder is playing, can see the picture in the 'Live' screen.
When 'Record' is pressed and after saving in the next screen, the problem happens when 'Capture' is pressed.
'Live' changes to 'Record', but there is a black screen. Current file size doesn't alter, but the elapsed time does.
When you hit 'Stop', a window comes up with 'Invalid file name.
In other words, it will not 'Capture'.
Have tried installing on a laptop and the same thing happens.
Any ideas please?

Hi everyone

I also have a problem with USB grabber & Showbiz- when you record directly from a connected DVD player everything works fine and the picture can be seen in the 'live' screen - the problem is when I connect a video player - it doesn't show any picture just a blank screen and therefore nothing shows to recod?  Any ideas?

Deadman oh man!  I have the same problem on Vista 32.  I've got the trial version so no buy until the one support person on this forum gets some answers.

But if you think this is bad, do not try Roxio.  Their products are so unstable that you need to do multiple installs and uninstalls.

ArcSoft does offer some good software.  Their Theatre 3 Platinum is awesome!

SmileI have windows 7 (RC) on another partition.  I installed showbiz dvd2 on windows 7 and it works beautifully.  Either there is a switch or block in Vista for this program or we are all running an application that interferes with showbiz.  I was capturing a home video and the only problem I had is that in two hours of capturing, maybe three times, a window came up and told me that I couldn't capture copyrighted material.  Thats on a home movie!

I think this thread got highjacked by the copyright issue - but I too am having this issue.  Records fine for about 10 minutes and then I get the "Copyrighted Material Detected, stopping capture" (or some such) error.  Seems like I just spent 40 bux for nothing.  Ideas?

thanks,
taylor

I am having the exact same problems.  Screen goes black when attempting, and copyright errors on my home videos.  Can't be a driver problem in the device, it shows the movies when not recording???

Any help?
