Topic: Start up / splash screen Posted: 27 Jul 2009 at 10:06pm |
TMT 3: Is there any way to eliminate or skip the splash screen when launching the 10' UI? I would also be interested if there was a way to stop the navigation keys from appearing and "oozing away" at startup.
When starting from a front end media player, it would be so much cleaner if TMT would just start up and play the movie with no other visual intrusions.
Thanks,
Paul

Jason? Anyone?
I have figured out that the splash screen is an .aui file located in a folder. If someone can create an "all black" .aui file to replace "splash.aui", then we'd be all set.
Deleting/renaming this file makes the background all white.
Is anyone familiar with this file format?

I am interested in this as well.
In TMT2, the splash screen file could simply be renamed and this would work.
I would very much like information on this, as there are programs that utilize TMT that can supply their own splashscreens for custom theater intros, etc.
As lovely as the TMT3 logo is with all of it's various audio format abilities listed every time it opens (I get it - it can handle Dolby Digital) - it would be nice to be able to skip this and supply something more appropriate.

I also would love to see this - the integrated feel with Media Center is fairly quickly shattered by the logo heavy splash screen.
Even something more tasteful and blue that still featured a small Arcsoft TMT logo would be far preferable to the splash screen that is there now.

This and renaming splash.aui works, but it results in a white screen flashing up for a few seconds.
It would certainly be better to have a blue empty screen option or, as pkarmouche mentioned, an empty black screen.
I opened the splash.aui file in notepad and the readable characters up at the top of the file indicate that it is an Arcsoft UI file. Probably a proprietary format I expect.
Jason, is there any possibility of getting an empty black splash screen version of these files? Or is that unlikely ever to happen?
Thanks! martinac

My guess, and it's entirely that as I have not talked to anyone nor read the fine print, is that we are legally obligated to show at least some of the logos on the splash and the odds of us removing them or the splash in its entirety, even optionally, is about as likely as getting Sony or Onkyo or whoever to remove them from the front faceplate of their AV hardware.
But, remember, that's a guess.
