Thanks Jason. That is fair enough.
Perhaps a suggestion of something with some lower key branding then? That definitely seems like it would be a better option than the complete elimination of the branding that renaming the splash screen represents...
Thanks! martinac

Branding/logo requirements can be quite strict. Apple has published theirs publicly, so I can use that as an example. There were requirements for minimum size, minimum distance of of "white space" around the logo, limits on background colors it could be placed against, requirements for the exact RGB color of the logo itself, and so on. It's concievable we're operating with similar constraints on some or all of these logos which could really limit modification options.

I don't think that the 3rd-party icons are really the issue. The background is very loud for a subdued home theater environment; it's a jarring transition between Media Center and the movie I'm watching. It was the first thing I noticed and disliked when I installed and used TMT for the first time yesterday, and I'm disappointed to see I can't change it myself. How about something like the photoshop I made below, where all the branding and icons are available but the background is a simple gradient? I'd like it even darker, maybe with a slightly smaller TMT logo. Simple black would be appreciated too. I'd take anything but the "rising sun" play button which might make for great box art, but looks cheezy and distracting on my 42" HDTV screen. Note that I've removed the advertisement for your other products from my splash screen example. I don't like being advertised to after purchasing the most feature-laden version of the program I could buy. Other than this minor gripe, the rest of the interface is handsome and useful, and the product is awesome! Thanks.

Or how about adding a dropdown-menu, where you can select from some (2 or 3) out-of-the-box backgrounds and as a last option a filepicker, where you can select a custom background?

Seems what we need then is a "hack".. someone needs to figure out how to replace the file "splash.aui" with a file which instead produces an all black screen. Anybody up to the challenge?
This, and having a way to automatically start playing the main feature (like TheaterTek's "movie start point" feature on DVD's) are the two major hold-ups from being able to recreate the cinema experience in my home theater with TMT.

And a resonable guess it is given most companies like to see their name everywhere. (subliminal advertising anyone ??) However - is there anyway of confirming this one way or another ? Thanks

That black one looks nice.
Maybe just the option of colours ie the same blue as media center with just the Arcsoft logo?
It is a question in the survey at present.

/cough MissingRemote.com Guide: Replace the ArcSoft Splash Screen(MissingRemote.com) is a watermark on the image shown, not part of what the app does. Work is ongoing to add the ability to replace the image also.

Great find, Nayla! Thank you for sharing. I wonder why they chose an all blue screen rather than just black? In any case a huge improvement!
Now if they would just implement some sort of movie-start-point style bookmark feature (ala Theatertek) for blu rays... then we're recreating the cinema experience!
