Topic: TMT3 and Windows 7 64-bit Posted: 13 Nov 2009 at 8:12pm |
On the "office network" idea - to be clear, this is just the workstation in my home office, not on a "business" network (just the Win7 basic networking).
I've still got no solution. It simply won't work. Are there are aspects of my system (software, hardware) that could be to blame?
Thanks.

I have the same proublem, when I was useing the windows 7 trial version tmt3 would launch and play great. but after purchaseing the retail version tmt will no longer launch.
for now I have restored back to the trial version untile I can figure it out or it expires.
I also ran into the proublem of acronis workstation 9 not even being able to install on the retail but works fine on the trial.
if you or anyone else figures out the proublem , please post it, I will do the same if I get it to work.

The code is identical between the x.x.x.160 full version and x.x.x.160 trial version in regards to actual functionality excepting the dolby codecs being removed. There's no situation I can think of where the trial of the same version number should work while the full does not. Are both 160?

What version of TMT? If you have an older one, it won't support Win7. |
Thanks Jason, that's good to know!
I solved it by connecting to the internet, then going with windows's explorer at C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Extreme, and double-cliking on the TMExtreme application to launch it. It then asked my agreement to download and install an update, which I accepted of course and since then, well, it just works.
Edit: If you have Total Media Theatre alone (not as part of Extreme), I believe that double-clicking on ucheckupdate.exe in its installation folder (rather than TMExtreme.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Extreme) will work as well.
In order to do that, I also had to install the latest driver for my HDPVR recorder ( here), but I think it's only because I got this copy of TME3 bundled with it - if that wasn't your case, I don't think you should need it.
Hope this helps!

Hello Jason, What I ment to say is tmt3 (160) will launch under the trial version of win7 but will not launch under the retail version of win7, I can install tmt3 on the retail, but nothing happens when I try to launch tmt3.
I figure it is something that is diffrent in the install of win7 retail.
I know most people have no proublem useing the retail version of win7 but I have found a few like myself were I can not launch it when installed on the retail win7.
I have time today to mess around with it some more , If I figure out what is happening I will post it.
Thank You for your quick reply.

I figured it out,I use to install tmt3 when useing the trial version of win7 by installing tmt3 useing compatibility mode vista sp1, when doing the same under win 7 retail tmt3 will not launch after install, but when i install it without any compatibilty mode tmt3 will launch after being installed, in doing this I am back to geeting the audio cut outs when playing back blu ray from harddrive, but not as bad as it use to be when others were haveing that proublem, I tried running tmt3 in compatibility mode vista sp1 it would launch but did nothing for the blu ray audio, when installing my asus hdav driver this time I also did not intall in compatibilty mode, so when I watch a new blu ray tomorrow I will reinstall it under vista sp1 and see what happens, the audio only drops out a few times during the movie for a secound each time so it is not a real big deal , just glade to have tmt3 launching now with win7 retail.
Hopefully this may help anyone else who may have this proublem.
