I recently installed TMT3 Platinum with the understanding it supports HD DVD playback. Dropped a disc in the player, nothing. Try a DVD, plays as expected. Tried multiple HD DVDs, nothing. How do I get HD DVDs to play?
System:
Gigabyte MA785G-UD3H
Phenom II x4 2.5 GHz (65w)
ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim
8 GB OCZ Platinum PC2 8500
Hauppauge HVR-2250
5 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Drives

I have well over 100 HD-DVD discs in my collection, and I can vouch for the fact that TMT3 Platinum does play HD-DVD discs! Just make sure you do a clean install...Very important!!!Can not emphasize this enough!!!Warning!!!This program does not like Cyberlink PowerDVD!!!It won't work if you have PowerDVD installed also...At least, it didn't for me...I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit version. Hope this answers some of your question! Don't give up! The program can be very temperamental at times, but well worth the trouble once you get things running!!!

P.S. -Forgot to add...I'm using the LG GGW-H20L as my player of choice...Also, I'm using the Ultimate version of Vista!

Sorry for the delayed response and thanks for the responses. I am running a clean Windows 7 Ultimate install and I did review the link before posting to this forum. Windows 7 uses the same driver for both HD DVD and Blu-ray players. The OS recognized the drive and I am able to create HD DVD ISOs so I'm thinking the driver is fine or AnyDVD HD would not recognize HD DVD discs. Correct? I had the same problem using a Xbox HD DVD ROM; OS recognized the drive, was able to rip isos but not TMT3 playback. Blu-rays play fine, no issues there.

All, thanks for your replies and assistance. I removed and reinstalled TMT3 twice, after the second try everything seems to be working as expected! Not sure why this is required but I have been having strange issues with Win7 anyway. |
