Hi,
Being so lucky in Australia (hint of sarcasm here ) we have multiple regions for blu-ray discs that are sold in the shops, some are actually region coded for Australia and some are actually UK Region B discs (gotta love consistency, no idea who's smart idea this was ).What I have found is that if I mount the ISO and play it in Windows via TMT3 normally the region is removed successfully by AnyDVD HD and the movie plays (in this case Babylon A.D.). But if I launch the movie from MM3 from within 7MC which mount's the ISO and then play's with TMT3 (but the 7MC TMT3 plugin) then I get the screen that the player isn't set in the correct region and I'm unable to view the movie. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as always. Edited by el-ricardo - 05 Nov 2009 at 1:32am |

I'm not trying to be funny here but are you sure you've got AnyDVD set to remove the region code from Blu-rays? It is a separate option in the 'Video Blu-ray' category.
I have seen a similar problem when I was using AnyDVD but I didn't have the 'Remove Blu-ray region code' setting ticked. (I forgot to reset it after re-installing AnyDVD after upgrading to Windows 7.)
TMT seems to have its own setting for region and this is a separate setting for the standalone version and for the Media Center plugin. They could be different. In my case, they were and a blu-ray would play OK in standalone TMT but not in the MC plugin until I changed the region setting while in the MC plugin.
Of course, this is all irrelevant if you do have AnyDVD removing the region code ...

It's all good mate, everything helps
Unfortunately yes the remove region is selected, as I indicated it works fine when you start TMT3 from the desktop icon but if you do it from within media center which uses the TMT3 plugin then I have the problem.
But your words of wisdom have helped HEAPS! I didn't realise that the region setting would be different in normal TMT3 and the media center plugin, so low and behold, if I go into the plugin it was set to Region A. Maybe this conflicted with the BD-ROM being set to Region B, who knows but it's solved my problem which is the main thing. Thanks mate.
It also means that the discs we get in Oz are UK discs, obviously no specific encoding for Oz (just Region B), I wondered why some of the discs had UK parental guidence logo's on them. Edited by el-ricardo - 06 Nov 2009 at 6:27pm |
