ArcSoft_Jason, would you know the most recent version that runs on Windows XP and where I might get it? Thanks to you, I've updated to 2.1.0.67. I'd like to install whatever more recent updates might exist for Windows XP, but Help/Product Updates takes me to a defunct HP web site (ShowBiz came bundled with my HP desktop). Oh man, that is old. 2.2.2.109 or so is current and you're going to have to go through a number of patches to get to it.
There's a patch specifically for that version which should get you moving along. Not sure about that HP site. Look for a checkupdate.exe in your showbiz folder and if it exists try clicking on it. If it's there, it should find the patch I see on the server. Then install, restart, repeat, until you get up in the 2.2.2.x range. If that doesn't work, let me know.

ArcSoft_Jason, I really appreciate your help. I'm very pleased to have been able to use your method to update to 2.2.2.53. However, at 2.2.2.69 (the next version checkupdate finds), ShowBiz DVD 2 no longer recognizes my video capture card (Adaptec AVC 2010 PCI). Any idea what might have happened between those two updates? Thank you again.

No clue. I haven't used the software in quite some time. I just know about the patch server because it's the same as the product I work on now.
