Glad to hear you discovered that before purchasing. I've been up front with customers on this issue for this very reason--the hope that while we might not do everything you want, you are aware of it prior to purchasing and don't have to deal with the unpleasantries of not getting what you thought you were buying.

Glad to hear the Blu-ray worked well. Maybe someday that will be more important to you, or MKV will be more important to us and meet your needs.

Don't expect subtitle and multiple audio track support to come along at the same time. If you rip your own MKVs you'll still be able to use again what worked before, and to rip MKVs from disc into a format that will play in TMT provided you set your options precisely.

What MKV-properties etc must be met for the TMT3 to play the file correctly?

Just so we straighten this out before I start ripping my blu-ray collection to my home server.

3.0.1.120 > 3.0.1.160 = broken mkv for me
anyway good to see this getting fixed!

arcsoft should use directshow for mkv, mp4 and so on!

Not sure. Someone in this or another thread here said it was related to subtitles for them but all the info I got back is that the issue is verified and it'll be fixed.

If you're ripping your own collection prior to that fix being available, just try one first and verify it works before doing more.
