Hello all!
I am interested in darkroom2 but I have enormous problems with the demo. I scan my B&W negs into photoshopCS2 & save as a tiff format. The files are large, more or less 100mb (size 9000 x 4500 pixels). When I load them into Darkroom 2 to make global adjustments the program freezes on a "pixlelated" imported image.
I have no problem loading the same image into Darkroom v 1.7 (full version) although it crashes when I want to save / export !
My question is: Can Darkroom only process a certain sized file or pixel count ? (I know I am restricted with the v2 demo but what is happening in V1.7 when it crashes!!)
Am I doing anything wrong while scanning, I scan at 16bit greyscale or 24/48 colour. I need high quality for exhibition purposes.
I am having similar problems with PS Darkroom 2. Large files, > 16MB, maybe even >10MB result in a incomplete, pixelated display. I have done a few experiments, and have yet to determine if the problem is; a)a limit on the file size, or b) a limit on maximum pixel dimensions.
