I purchased a new Canon LIDE 200 because my old Epson Perfection 1650 did not support Win 7. The box said the new Canon was compatible with Windows 7, but the Arcsoft software doesn't work properly;  it gives me an error message saying this program has known compatibility problems with Windows 7.
The only patch I see to update it so it will work with Win 7 is the upgrade to Studio 6 for $79; this doesn't seem right somehow, as the new scanner only cost $99.  Any solutions?

Will there be a patch download for PhotoStudio5.5 compatibility with Windows 7?
 If so when?

I have the same question.  I hope an answer is forthcoming, because I don't want to spend $99.00 for software that came with a new scanner that cost less than that!

I just posted a similar post, what's the deal with ArcSoft?  Do they read these forums?
Poor customer relations!

Well I finally got my PhotoStudio version 5.5 registered.  I have tried to do this via the program two or three times and online another two or three times.  What I had to do wat start the registration from the program and copy the serial number from that form then go online and fill that for using this serial number.  You cannot use the S.N. on the "About Scree" that shows a serial number it wont work.

Now lets hope support has a link to the Windows 7 patch for the (Windows 7 compatable)Canon LiDE 100 scanner and the supplied ArcSoft PhotoStudio version 5.5

When you finally get your product registered then the e-mail form will work showing your procuct in the "Product Title" window.

ClapHow about that...

Smile I have to thank ArcSoft support for a URL to the 5.5 to 6.0 patch, I hope it works for all of you who are having problems with their Canon scanner software that will not work in Windows.

Thank you for contacting ArcSoft.

You can try to download the following patch and see if it helps:

http://www.arcsoft.com/downloads/oem/canon/photostudio_canon_5.5.0.93_6.0.1.132_update_all.exe

If you still have any problems with your scanner, please directly contact Canon for a driver update.

We hope this information helps. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Regards,

I upgraded to Windows 7 and now scanner (Canon LiDE 50) won't connect with PhotoStudio 5.0.0.53.  I get a screen about Twain error.  The scanner is connected and device manager says it's working properly. PS5 came with the scanner.

Do you have an update I can download to make my PS5 compatible with W7?  I tried the download suggested in the forum but it told me ArcSoft wasn't installed ... which it is.

Thank you.

I too am having trouble making my Photostudio 5.5 software work with Windows 7.  When I finally was able to get through to support, they said they were working on a patch but it wasn't ready yet.  I also found where I could upgrade to Photostudio 6.0 for $29.95 less a 20% discount because of the compatibility problem.  So I guess there is the option to wait for the free patch (they didn't say when it would be available) or pay for the upgrade and hope that works.

I too had problems.  I now can get film to scan, but does not file with the indicated file extension, and only a very few bits, not meg-a-bites.  FrustratingAngry
