Will TMT be adding support for the nvidia 460 gtx series of graphics cards that now support bitstreaming of hd audio formats? This is a large selling point of mine. I am already enjoying the quality of playback. But being that I just purchased a 460 and windvd does the bitstreaming. Im curious as if it will be coming to TMT.
Or does it already support Bitstreaming with the 460 series?

TMT does not support bitstreaming with the 460 at this time. NVIDIA has not even released the drivers yet required to impliment it. We may support it in the future but it will either be announced via marketing or appear in the app before it is discussed here so basically asking if/when here won't be of much value as neither will be confirmed.
(WinDVD uses a workaround for their bitstreaming support which is not used by TMT, would not be straightforward to impliment, and would have other side effects. This doesn not mean it's off the table as a future possibility.)

Hello,
AFAIK the new WHQL GeForce drivers 258.96 have complete GTX 460 support including HD audio bitstreaming because of newly released audio drivers 1.0.15.0! Bye, Ferris

That audio driver appears to be from June and that doesn't match my understanding of NVIDIA's timetable for having this support integrated. Have you actually seen some documentation that supports your statement? |
