- Camera and Camcorder Solution provides the essential and
advanced capture functions to take better photos and videos on
camera phones. Users can capture photos with advanced
technologies including
Anti-Shaking, Face-Tracking, Smile/Blink
Detection, Fully Automatic Red-eye Removal,
and Panorama
Stitching. Videos can be captured with Smart Denoise and
Stabilizer technologies. It interacts with
the camera via Symbian
ECam interface and encodes the image and video using Symbian
ICL and MMF/MDF frameworks.
- Streaming Media Player Solution provides music and video
playback from local files and over the mobile network. It supports
RTSP/RTP/RTCP streaming protocol and HTTP Progressive
Download. The streaming player is IOT’ed with 12 carriers and is
being tested with another nine carriers world-wide (the list is
growing). Symbian CAF framework is used to access DRM
protected files, and MMF/MDF framework is used for media
playback (underlying codecs can be from ArcSoft or third party,
such as silicon vendors). The Streaming Media Player can be
provided as either a standalone application and/or an integrated
component of the Media Gallery.
- Music Player Solution provides great user experience specifically
designed for music phones. The solution includes database-driven
music indexing by metadata
(i.e., MP3 ID3 tags), playlist
manipulation, album art support, equalizer, spectrum animation,
and more. The Music Player
can be provided as either a standalone
application and/or
an integrated component of the Media Gallery,
depending on customer requirements.
- Media Editor Solution is
our most sophisticated mobile
application. It allows end users to edit photos and videos on
mobile devices, without the use of a PC. Photo editor includes basic
functions (cropping, rotation, adjustments) and creative functions
(frames, clipart, text overlay, special effects).
Video editor provides
functions including trimming, audio dubbing, photo-movie
making, and storyboarding. Editing flows are specifically designed
to be mobile-friendly so that operations can be done with one or a
few clicks. The Media Editor can be provided as either a standalone
application and/or an integrated component of the Media Gallery.

- Media Gallery Solution serves as the multimedia center of the
device. It automatically scans
all types of media files on the device,
categorizes them by
their attributes, such as image date/time and
geo-taggings.
The high-performance photo/video thumbnail
engine enables iPhone-like user experience. The solution comes
with Advanced Photo Viewer
that allows fast browsing and
viewing for massive amount of large photos (12 mega-pixel or
even larger) with small amount of runtime memory (as low as 600
KB) and low processor clockspeed (150MHz – 200MHz ARM9 is
usually sufficient to deliver a smooth user experience with 12
mega-pixel photos, including panning and zooming).
- Mobile IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystems) allows carrier
and handset manufacturers to take
advantage of the opportunities offered by
IMS-based premium services.
The ArcSoft IMS
VideoSharing application, the flagship mobile IMS technology, provides live, full-duplex
peer-to-peer video sharing over mobile network.
It can be quickly deployed on
a wide array of
networks because of its simplicity in architecture: only a standard
SIP proxy
server is needed to
register, authenticate, and establish the session. ArcSoft offers this solution in various ways: as a
full
application or as an easy-to-use SDK that hides technical complexity from UI developers. ArcSoft’s
MPEG4, H.263 and AMR codecs are specifically optimized for video telephony applications by
enabling advanced coding tools like RVLC, Resync Marker, HEC, DCI, just to name a few.
- Mobile Media Codecs include image codecs (JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP), video codecs (MPEG4, H.263,
H.264, WMV, MPEG2),
and audio codecs (MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, AC-3, SBC, and
a lot more). They can
be provided as Symbian ICL plug-ins (image codecs), as MMF/MDF plug-ins (audio/video codecs),
or as generic SDKs featuring OpenMax IL interface. The codecs are fully optimized for ARM9/11
platforms; some are further optimized for Cortex A8 and a few DSPs from TI. Certain codecs have
special capabilities built in, such as lossless transformation and random pixel access for JPEG,
equalizer for AAC and MP3,
and so on.
