Timeline Overview

As you know, the Timeline displays all the same information as the Storyboard, and more. The Timeline is divided into separate tracks. The tracks are: video track (including main video track and overlay video track), audio track, text track, and voice track.

As you may have guessed, the video track is where you can add still images, transitions, and video clips, which also has a section that displays any audio that may be included with a video. You can add 10 video tracks at most to ShowBiz 5 Timeline: 1 main video track and 9 overlay video tracks.

The audio track is where you can add audio files. You can add 2 audio tracks at most to ShowBiz 5 Timeline.

The text track is where you can add text effects. You can add 2 text tracks at most to ShowBiz 5 Timeline.

The voice track is also provided, where you can effectively include an ongoing soundtrack, along with a narration or special sound effects track. You can only add 1 voice track to ShowBiz 5 Timeline.

Timeline not only provides standard tools for cut, copy, paste and more, but also offers a variety of advanced functions which you can access from the right-click menu.

How to split video

Select the position you want to split the video and choose the "Split" option from the right-click menu. For more information, please see How to Trim or Split Your Movie.

How to apply random transition to your project

All you need to do is import your project to the timeline and choose the "Random Transition To All" option from the right-click menu. A variety of transitions will be applied randomly.

How to change display mode for current clip

If you want to adjust the display mode for your project, you can choose "Best Fit", "Fill & Crop", or "Stretch Ti Fit" option from the right-click menu, and preview each application effect on the right window. This function is available for both photos and videos.

How to adjust playback speed

Select the "Set Playback Speed" option from the right-click menu and adjust the playback speed in the pop-up window. You can accelerate the playback speed by up to 5 times. For more information, please see The Easiest Way to Speed up Your Videos.

How to access advanced editing

Select the "Advanced Editing" option from the right-click menu to go to where contains several tools to edit your video clip or photo, such as rotate, crop, trim video clip and more. For more information, please see How to Use Advanced Editing.

How to auto-mix audio

Assume that you're going to add audio to video clips that have sound effects, and you need to mix the two audio tracks after adding audio files. Right-click on audio clips and you can choose "Audio Mix" option. For more information, please see How to Mix/Fade/Trim Audios Using Editor on Windows.

How to extract audio

If you want to extract the audio from a video clip, you can select the video in the timeline and choose the "Extract Audio" option from the right-click menu. The extracted audio file will be archived to your local disk directly.
