To export videos without black bars, click the Settings button. The Resample feature includes several options: Keep Aspect Ratio, Letterbox, Crop, and Stretch.
Keep Aspect Ratio – is the default output style and keeps the original ratio of the file. The exported file may have a different size but the aspect ratio will remain the same.
Letterbox – if the aspect ratio is different between the input and output files, choose this option to use black bars to fill the blank area. Some devices may only allow a fixed aspect ratio and cannot play media files with a different aspect ratio.
Crop – crops the original file to fit the aspect ratio of the output file. This option may delete black bars in the source file or, more likely, some sections of the video itself will be lost.
Stretch - Stretch the output video to a target size. This will distort the aspect ratio of the source file and depending on how much the video must be stretched may impact the viewing experience for some users. (The experience will typically be similar to using Stretch modes on an HDTV which some users are okay with, and some users find unacceptable.)
MediaConverter 8 can control the CPU usage on computers with multiple cores. This allows for more CPU capability to surf the Internet, play games, or watch a movie during conversion. All you need to do is click the + or – icons of the waveform at the bottom of the Main window to control the CPU number and usage. The higher the CPU usage, the faster the transcoding process. However, the computer may respond slower when you increase the usage.
