When you install a Windows XP on computer, Windows Movie Maker has been embedded in it in most case. For convenience you decide to use the program to edit/ fix your home movies in camcorder. This article teaches you how to import videos from camcorder to Windows Movie Maker.

Get Camcorder Videos to Windows Movie Maker
Use IEEE1394 cable or USB line to connect camcorder to PC. Launch the camcorder driver if there's one.
There're two methods to get access to your camcorder videos with Windows Movie Maker. The first one is to open up the program and choose "Capture from video device" option in left panel "Movie tasks -> Capture video". An alternative way is use the pop-up menu once you plug in camcorder.

Follow the prompts to choose settings for video destination on computer, importing quality (all in WMM format), and whether to capture the whole video or just a part of it.

Now you can wait for the capture process to finish. Afterwards, go to the video file you've just created according to destination you filled in Step3. You can use Windows Media Player and the like to watch your videos from camcorder.
